Degrees of the future, in the present

Faculty and academic leaders have been working for the last 18 months to create new academic programs -- Degrees of the Future -- that address student and workforce demands. Degrees of the Future is a three-year, $1.5 million initiative, funded by Iowa State's 2022-2031 strategic plan, to spur innovation in the curriculum. From 22 faculty proposals in 2023, six degrees were selected for development.

Honors program introduces a second pathway to graduation

To better serve honors undergraduates whose post-baccalaureate goal is a job, not graduate school, the university honors program is launching a second pathway over the next few years.

Sundararajan named to new position in provost's office

Sriram Sundararajan has been named interim assistant provost for special projects in the office of the senior vice president and provost. He will serve in a 25% appointment through Dec. 31 and a 50% appointment thereafter.

It's official: College of Health and Human Sciences

Meeting this morning on campus, the state Board of Regents approved a new college name at Iowa State: The College of Health and Human Sciences. The change takes effect today.
