Andrea Wheeler, associate professor of architecture and 2021-2022 Faculty Senate president, in her part-time 50% role as the Provost's Faculty Fellow for Student Success, works with Associate Provost for Academic Programs Anne Marie VanDerZanden to coordinate and lead a student success task force focused on using data to inform decision making, expanding partnerships across the institution, identifying initiatives to support targeted student populations, and collaboratively developing benchmarks and metrics to meet graduation and retention goals. Andrea, a first-generation student, joined Iowa State University in 2013. She holds a bachelor's degree from Plymouth University, a master's in mechanical engineering, a diploma in architecture from Oxford Brookes University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham, all in the United Kingdom. She is a scholar of sustainable architecture and educational buildings and completed a research fellowship in the Centre for Research in Advanced Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Cambridge.
